Car trip to Murfreesboro

  • Mood:
  • Weather: Some clouds, but still bright sunshine

Well, Mandy’s car needed and alternator. So we had to drive to Murfreesboro to go pick one up. My bestest friend Becky came over to sit with my kids.  It was a pretty good day and the puppies proved they are spoiled!

I will always say having a puppy is like having a small child, and this proves it.

I had the puppies running free in the main house all morning, till Becky showed up.  I put them in their pen, so I could leave.  They threw a fit, lots of whining, howling and yelping at me to come get them.   I stood my ground and said “NO, you will not roam free while I am gone”, my kids were helping the puppy’s argument “Please mom!”   No, it safer for them to be in bed.  They were still whining when I walked out the door.

I was gone for about 5 hours.  We found the car part, had lunch and drove home.  I walk in the door and the puppies are still throwing a fit, more whining.  “Oh my Goodness! Have they been doing this all day?!”  Becky says of course not, they stopped as soon as you walked out the door and didn’t start again till they heard you outside coming in the door. She then called me a push over, and that the puppies know what a push over mommy I can be. Who? Me? Never!

My kids did the same thing when I would drop them off at church childcare, fuss going in, play the whole time and fuss being picked up.   Yep, just like a child.

We had a nice little drive, it was hot. Had to have the AC on the whole time or risk melting.  All in all, it was a Fruitful drive, LOL yes pun intended, read on…..

We found a farmers market, and about 200 yds away was a farmer selling big ol watermelons off his truck.  Just what I needed for our 4th of July party!  I got a big one.

I also picked up a beautiful blue glazed ceramic pot I found off Campbellyardsales.com.  When I picked it up and was pleasantly surprised.  She said it was a small one. Well I have been looking at these types of pots for over a year, wanted one so badly but they are expensive.  She had the Medium size and I got it for $8!

We also took Queenie Pie with us.  She doesn’t get to go many places, she never wants to. Mainly because she is used to being left behind.  I only take the ones I can trust not to run off to the TinyTown house.  It is a fenced in yard, but it is not closed off, there is no gate.  Since Queenie is still a puppy, I don’t want to risk it.

I took her around town Thursday  and she did real well. She never tried to run away, she wasn’t scared.  Since she did so well the day before, I took her with us yesterday.  Again, she was so sweet.   I let her out the car and she would stay by me, even when she saw another dog. She just barked, but didn’t give chase or anything.  So very proud of her.
